Food you need to work for

A while back during the Christmas holidays of 2008. Some of my relatives came to visit us in HK. As HK is very famous for it's large variety of restaurants, we decided to go try one of their Japanese restaurants in Times Square. The place was quite casual and a lot of people were bustling around. The food was good enough for the price we were paying but one of the most interesting things that I remember from this ordinary restaurant was the drink that I ordered.

I just came from work so I wanted to choose something refreshing and also not too fatty. So I chose one of the drinks that involved the description of a zesty grapefruit and cold splash of fizz.

When the drink came...it was nothing but ordinary. It came with a glass of (what looked like ice water) soda water with a stirring stick, half a grapefruit and a juicer saucer plate. So I tried to juice my Ice - hard grapefruit on the juicer. Then with what little juice I got in the saucer I poured it into my iced soda water and stirred it with my stir stick. It tasted like NOTHING...It was the most hard-working drink I had ever had but one thing is for sure, I don't think this drink is anything but fatty!

Healthy Cake Baking!

What do you do when you have nothing to do in HK? GO BAKE A CAKE!

We went to the Home Baking in HK and learned, baked and had a lot of fun! Also they promote healthy cakes!

My sis baking? *GASP!* Very proud of her haha

Me, having lots of fun! I LAHV dessert!

Finished Product! She looks so proud of herself!

This one is mine~!

Actually I don't think they look too much different?...(My sis' cake below)

My Cake, which is better looking?

Doesn't matter, as long as it tastes the same! (The cake is not my particular favorite but tasted pretty good for a healthy, low fat, low sugar blueberry mousse with black cherries on top!

Taipei - Airplane food!?

In Taipei, and with my sister and her daughter, we come across a very cute restaurant in the mall by 101. It looked like the interior of a jumbo jet. And all the waitresses were dressed like flight attendants!

My sis sitting in "first class" haha

We were exhausted! So many shopping bags!! haha (And I'm carrying Jasmine's Build-A-Bear)
Although the restaurant was cute, the food was not the best tasting. This was a typical kid's meal
But the important thing is that the kids enjoyed it like Jasmine!

Convention Centre Dinner of BLACK TRUFFLES

Sitting and can't wait for dinner to start!

Set Menu for each guest!
Barbequed Black Truffle Served on Polaine Toast with Brie Cheese and Honey

Terrine of Root Vegetables, Mushrooms and Black Truffle

Truffle Hunter's Potato Icy Granite and Caviar

My sis enjoying her dinn dinn! =P

Porc Duo "Le Noir de Bigorre" Truffle Jus

Vacherin Cheese Tart with Blueberry and Black Truffle

This dessert was truly scary for me because I thought (or we all thought) that it was some whipped cream on a blueberry cheesecake. But it turns out that the cream was made from really smelly cheese. And it was not the most appetizing dessert...(disappointing! Cos I love a good dessert!!)
The dinner was wonderfully hosted and I enjoyed a wonderful night with friends and good food!

Creative Cakes

For My 21st Birthday, my sis helped design this adorable and HUGE pink Ipod cake for me!
It had headphones and everything. =) Pink is my fav color and I lahv listening to music! She totally surprised me, and now every occasion, we always try to think of new ideas for more creative cakes!

For my nephew's 1st birthday, my sister decided to get the cake with a baby on top of a cake. It was absolutely ADORABLE and it looked exactly like JAMES!

For my BDAY, I wanted something that was very nice so I found this on the pic of the cake on the internet and asked the cake shop to do it. They did a wonderful job and I LAHVED it!
